Algeria.. Abdelmadjid Tebboune wins a second presidential term

 


Algeria's Independent National Electoral Authority announced Sunday that President Abdelmadjid Tebboune has won a second term in office after receiving 94.65% of the votes in the presidential elections.

The head of the Independent National Electoral Authority, Mohamed Charfi, said in a press conference dedicated to announcing the results of the presidential elections that Abdelmadjid Tebboune received 5,329,253 votes or 94.65%.

Charfi added, "The candidate of the Movement for a Peaceful Society, Abdelali Hassani Cherif, came in second with 178,797 votes or 3.17%, while the candidate of the Socialist Forces Front, Youssef Ouchich, came in third with 122,146 votes or 2.16%."

Charfi explained that the early presidential elections were held under normal circumstances and under strict organizational procedures, noting that the Independent National Electoral Authority was at an equal distance from all candidates and that great care was taken to give the necessary priority to achieve a transparent electoral process that respects the voters' choice and protects their votes from any fraud.
