French actor Alain Delon dies at 88

 French film star Alain Delon has died at the age of 88, his three children told AFP on Sunday morning.

"Alain Fabien, Anouchka, Anthony and Lupo (Delon's dog) announce with deep sadness the death of their father. He died peacefully at his home in Duchy, surrounded by his three children and his family (...) who ask you to respect his privacy in this painful moment of mourning," the children said in a joint statement.

They explained that the actor died "in the early hours of the night.

Delon made headlines in the summer of 2023 when his three children filed a lawsuit against the star's domestic helper, Hiromi Roland, whom he sometimes called his partner, accusing her of "exploiting their father's weakness."

A family dispute then erupted between Delon's children, which reached the courts and was covered by the media against the backdrop of the star's health, who was suffering from lymphoma and suffered a stroke in 2019.
