Fendi's artistic director Kim Jones leaves his post at the Italian fashion house

Italian fashion house Fendi announced on Friday that its artistic director Kim Jones had left his post after four years, without specifying who would succeed him.

The house, which is owned by French luxury giant LVMH, said in a statement: "Kim Jones and Fendi jointly announce that Jones will leave his position as artistic director of women's collections and haute couture.

Kim Jones will retain his position at Dior Homme, which is also owned by LVMH. The 51-year-old British designer will take over from Karl Lagerfeld in September 2020.

"Jones has made a significant contribution to the creative legacy of the brand, harmoniously integrating a modern and multicultural aesthetic into the history of the house," Fendi said, adding that "throughout our four-year collaboration, Jones has accomplished his work with passion and innovation".

"Kim Jones is an incredibly talented designer who has brought his individual and multicultural vision to Fendi over the past four years. I thank him for his contribution and look forward to seeing his creativity continue to flourish at Dior Man," said LVMH CEO Bernard Arnault in the statement. Jones showed his last collection in September during Milan Fashion Week for women's Spring/Summer 2025. Fendi celebrates its 100th anniversary next year.
