New Sexual Assault Complaints Allege Rapper Sean 'Diddy' Combs

New lawsuits have been filed against American rapper Sean "Diddy" Combs, including one alleging sexual assault of a minor, a lawyer said on Monday.

The civil lawsuits, filed by six people in New York, are part of a series of lawsuits involving more than 100 victims recently announced by a US lawyer after Combs was formally charged and jailed in September.

The rapper is accused of running a violent system of sex trafficking and extortion for years.

"We plan to file a large number of additional claims against Combs and other defendants in the coming weeks," attorney Tony Buzbee said in a statement on Monday.

The new lawsuits, filed by four men and two women whose identities have been kept secret, cover the period from 1995 to 2021, according to the lawyer. One of the plaintiffs says the singer sexually assaulted him and touched his genitals when he was 16 years old at a Sean "Diddy" Combs concert near New York in 1998.

Combs made it clear to the then teenager that he had to accept this kind of behaviour "to get into the music business".

Sean Combs established himself as a hip-hop figure on the East Coast of the United States, but his star has been fading since a series of complaints against him were made public in the autumn of 2023, including allegations of rape against him by singer Cassie, in a case that was eventually settled amicably.

His alleged victims described him as a sexual predator who used alcohol and drugs to subdue them. The singer has denied the allegations.

The singer founded Bad Boy Records in 1993 and became a major figure in hip-hop, producing notable acts including The Notorious B.I.G., who was murdered in Los Angeles in 1997, and Mary J. Blige.
